WazirX confirmed today that it submitted documents to the Singapore High Court for its ongoing legal case on September 26. The case stems from the massive hack of July last year, which caused heavy losses for the Indian cryptocurrency exchange.

The court set strict deadlines requiring all parties in the case to be ready. Earlier, the Singapore court found issues with the affidavits and ordered creditors to submit corrected versions by September 19. The court requested the Singapore-based entity of WazirX, Zettai Pte Ltd, to submit its response by September 22.
The court asked all parties, creditors, Zettai Pte Ltd, and the WazirX team, to submit final written submissions by September 26. The Singapore-based court designed these actions through a planned program to keep the case on track. The Singapore court is currently reviewing the documents and will decide the next hearing date to determine the course of the proceedings.
In particular, the legal process plays a crucial role in that it preconditions the solution of creditor claims and the organization of the company. The oversight of the court has seen to it that the deadlines are adhered to and filings are carried out according to due process.
WazirX Submits Court Filing in Singapore Hack Case
The July 2024 hack marked a pivotal moment in WazirX’s history, and hackers stole about $234.9 million in digital assets. Investigators linked the incident to the North Korea Lazarus Group, which had previously attempted to attack international crypto exchanges.
The magnitude of the breach caused WazirX to temporarily shut down its operations and evaluate its financial status. In addition, the attack shook user confidence and made formal restructuring under court supervision necessary. The ongoing scheme of arrangement in Singapore provides a model to manage debts and organize creditor repayments.
Zettai Pte Ltd plays a key role in this process. As the Singapore entity handling crypto-to-crypto transfers, it carries the responsibility to align creditor claims. Creditors have demanded clarification on repayment terms, and the court has been on top of it. The High Court ruled earlier in September that a number of affidavits would have to be amended to achieve compliance.
Custody Partnerships to Secure User Assets
While legal proceedings continue, WazirX has also moved to strengthen its security framework. Zettai Pte Ltd recently partnered with BitGo Trust Company, a custodian recognized for institutional-grade protections in the digital asset sector. BitGo provides multi-signature wallet technology, detailed security protocols, and insurance coverage of up to $250 million.
After months of silence post $230M hack, WazirX finally partners with BitGo to “improve fund security.”

In addition, WazirX announced a partnership with Zodia Custody, an institution-first platform backed by major global banks and financial groups. The collaboration is designed to enhance the protection of user funds and build greater confidence in the platform as it prepares to restore services.
