Tokocrypto’s journey toward full licensure began in 2019 when it registered as a Prospective Physical Crypto Asset Trader (CPFAK). After navigating the rigorous regulatory framework set by Bappebti, Tokocrypto has now emerged as a fully licensed entity. Moreover, it has gained the authority to operate as a physical crypto-asset trader. This accomplishment will further cement Tokocrypto’s leadership in Indonesia’s burgeoning Web3 ecosystem.
Tokocrypto’s Growth and Market Impact
The approval of the PFAK license comes at a time when Tokocrypto is experiencing rapid growth. The platform’s user base has surpassed 4.5 million this year, while its monthly average trading volume has increased by an impressive 138%. These figures underscore Indonesian investors’ growing trust and confidence in Tokocrypto’s services.
Tokocrypto CEO Yudhono Rawis emphasized the importance of the PFAK license in realizing the company’s long-term goals. Rawis said, “This is an essential part of our strategy to build a solid foundation in the crypto-asset ecosystem in Indonesia and ensure that we can provide the best services to our customers,” He highlighted that Tokocrypto’s success establishes it as a significant force in Indonesia’s crypto market. In addition, 35 potential exchanges are currently registered with Bappebti.
A Boost for Indonesia’s Crypto Industry
The PFAK license strengthens Tokocrypto’s regulatory standing and contributes to the broader development of Indonesia’s crypto industry. As the country continues to establish itself as a significant player in the global crypto market, the role of regulated exchanges like Tokocrypto becomes increasingly vital.
Richard Teng, the CEO of Binance, praised Tokocrypto’s achievement, emphasizing its commitment to adhering to regulatory standards. Teng stated, “Binance is committed to fully supporting Tokocrypto in its mission to drive the growth of the Web3 ecosystem in the region.” His remarks reflect Binance’s broader strategy of promoting a compliant and robust crypto environment in Indonesia and globally.
