Strategy’s Bitcoin Holdings Reach 848,250 BTC After Latest Purchase
Strategy spent approximately $21.5 million on its latest Bitcoin acquisition. Of that amount, $21 million came from selling its Class A common stock (MSTR), while the remaining $500,000 came from its existing cash. During the same period, the company sold 125,183 MSTR shares through its at-the-market (ATM) offering program. The program allows Strategy to raise money by selling shares directly into the market.
Following the purchase, Strategy now holds 848,250 BTC, acquired for a combined $64 billion. Its average purchase price stands at $75,444 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. The company continues to follow its Bitcoin treasury strategy, which focuses on building long-term BTC holdings through equity offerings and other financing methods. However, the value of its holdings can change significantly with Bitcoin’s market price. The company also faces financing costs and other obligations linked to its capital structure.
Strategy Repurchases $192.4 Million in STRC Preferred Shares
Alongside the Bitcoin purchase, Strategy bought back 1,932,145 shares of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock (STRC) for approximately $192.4 million. STRC is a preferred stock issued by Strategy that offers investors dividend payments. Unlike common shares, preferred shares generally provide different payment rights and investment terms.
The company has been repurchasing STRC shares as part of its broader digital credit securities buyback program. Its goal is to manage outstanding preferred stock and related dividend obligations.
Following the latest transactions, Strategy reported that $354.8 million remained available under its preferred securities repurchase program. Meanwhile, the company still has $1 billion available under a separate program to repurchase its MSTR common shares. However, it did not buy back any MSTR shares during the reported week.
Strategy Reports $4.88 Billion in USD Reserves
Strategy also updated its cash position as it continues to manage its Bitcoin treasury and preferred stock commitments. As of October 11, the company held $4.88 billion in its USD Reserve and another $640.5 million in USD Cash. The USD Reserve is intended to cover preferred stock dividends and interest payments on outstanding debt.
Meanwhile, the separate cash balance can support Bitcoin purchases and other corporate financing activities. Strategy used $500,000 from its cash balance to help fund the latest Bitcoin purchase. The company also maintains its USD reserves to cover preferred stock dividends and interest payments on its debt.
Strategy also released updated figures for STRC, showing a USD Duration of 3.5 years and BTC Credit of 52 basis points. The estimates use a Bitcoin price of $82,252, with an expected annual return of 10% and volatility of 40%.
USD Duration is 3.5 yrs and STRC's BTC Credit is 52 bps assuming 10% BTC ARR, 40% BTC Vol, and a BTC price of $82,252. Learn more about Strategy's credit metrics: https://t.co/H0Xmf1xcuD
