Solana (SOL) is in the green today, reflecting continued bullish momentum across the cryptocurrency market. At press time, Solana was trading at $101.0, up 6.79% in the day. Solana trading volumes are also on the rise in the day, up 94.89% to stand at $7.67 billion. The surge in volumes as the price goes up is an indicator that buyers are coming in strongly, expecting even higher prices in the short term. Multiple factors support the growing excitement around Solana intraday.
Bitcoin’s Rally Pushing Solana Price Higher Intraday
The biggest of these factors is Bitcoin’s price action. Bitcoin is pushing higher and topped $80k in the last 24 hours. As Bitcoin rises, so does the whole altcoin market. Solana, being one of the best-known altcoins, stands to draw in significant investments if Bitcoin pushes higher. That’s because, as has happened in past bull runs, capital first flows into the big altcoins like Solana before flowing into the rest of the market.
At the same time, Solana hosts one of the biggest ecosystems for meme coins, which tend to do well in bull markets. As such, as the market turns bullish and memecoins start to rally, Solana could see even bigger gains in the short to medium term.
Validator Vote on Tokenomics Boosts SOL Sentiment
Aside from the broader market momentum, Solana has got a boost from a Solana validator vote that is coming up today. The vote is set to make Solana more deflationary and also increase the fees earned by validators. Investors are excited because even if the proposal sails through, it could significantly cut down on the amount of Solana coming into circulation.
Solana Validator Governance
Voting is now live for SGP 1, SGP 2, and SGP 3.
– SGP-0001: The Solana Constitution
– SGP-0002: Double Disinflation
– SGP-0003: Resource and Inclusion FeeVoting lasts until the end of epoch 1023 (Thursday at approximately 15:30 UTC).

Based on the economic laws of supply and demand, a decline in the amount of SOL entering circulation means higher upside pressure going into the future. The result is that Solana could rally more in the short term based on the anticipation. Long term, as the market adjusts to lower token emissions, SOL could rally to new all-time highs.
Growing Solana ETF Inflows Adding to Upside Momentum
Already, new investments in Solana are evident in the ETFs. Latest data shows that Solana ETFs are recording net inflows. Yesterday, August 24, Bitwise Solana ETFs recorded $25 million in inflows, bringing the total inflows for the week to $948 million. As these inflows grow and the broader market continues to push higher, Solana could rally to new highs in the short term.
📈 ETF DATA: U.S. spot @Solana ETFs recorded $33.3M in net inflows yesterday, the highest daily inflows since December 2025, led by $BSOL with $25M.
Meanwhile, daily traded volume hit an all-time high of $166M.

Short Squeeze Adds to Solana Momentum
Solana is further being pushed higher by the fact that shorts are getting squeezed. For months, Solana, like most altcoins, was mostly bearish. This saw short sellers dominate the market. Last week’s sudden rally across the board saw billions worth of these short positions get liquidated. As Solana pushes higher, more of these shorts are likely to get liquidated.
As this happens, they will be forced to buy SOL in order to cover positions. This will keep pushing SOL higher because leveraged buyers are also growing in confidence. Such a confluence of technical price action and strong fundamentals puts SOL in a prime position for a rally back to its last all-time high.
Technical Analysis – Solana Price Pushes Through Key Resistance
Solana pushed through the $97.30 resistance yesterday, August 24, and has held above it intraday. If bulls sustain momentum, Solana could rally to $146.65 in the short term.

However, if the bulls lose momentum, two scenarios could play out in the short term. The first is where Solana consolidates above $97.30, which is now resistance. The second is where Solana falls back below $97.30 and targets the $71.70 support. Of these two scenarios, a rally to $146.65 is more likely. This is due to the rising bullish momentum across the market and strong Solana fundamentals.
