Eric Trump Calls Bitcoin a Top Store of Value and Hedge Against Real Estate

Eric Trump, son of U.S. President Donald Trump, has reaffirmed his bullish stance on Bitcoin. In an April 1 interview with FOX Business Network, he called BTC “one of the greatest stores of value” and “an incredible hedge against real estate.” These remarks follow the U.S. shifting toward a pro-crypto stance under Trump’s administration, with the president also openly supporting digital assets.

He stated:

“I believe that Bitcoin is one of the greatest stores of value, immediately liquidated and an unbelievable hedge against real estate and something we are really excited about.”

Eric Trump’s Shift to Crypto

Eric Trump mentioned that he became interested in cryptocurrency after banks canceled his family’s accounts for no clear reason. He believes this was a political move to target conservatives. He said he never expected to get into crypto, but the bank closures, linked to his father’s politics, led him to explore it.

The experience made him value Bitcoin’s decentralized nature, which helps it resist censorship. As a result, the Trump Organization executive is now involved in crypto projects like World Liberty Financial (WLFI) and American Bitcoin. American Bitcoin, a mining venture backed by Trump’s sons and Hut 8, officially launched on March 31. Eric mentioned that the company officially launched yesterday and believes it will become a major player. “American Bitcoin. I think it’s going to be one of the great companies out there. So I truly believe in it,” he said.

When asked about World Liberty Financial, Eric shared that the project is thriving. He said, “It’s doing phenomenally well.” WLFI is not a new project. Eric explained that it was built years ago, before Donald Trump first entered the White House. He told Bloomberg TV in a separate interview on Tuesday, “We started World Liberty long before my father ever got elected to the White House.”

Last week, WLFI revealed the launch of its stablecoin, USD1, following a successful fundraising of over $550 million through token sales. During an interview with FOX Business Network, Trump emphasized the importance of establishing clearer regulations for the cryptocurrency industry. He mentioned that “everybody wants guidelines” and emphasized that the U.S. must maintain leadership in space.

Trump Family’s Push for Crypto Leadership

Eric shared that in 10 years, the nature of finance and banking in the U.S. will be very different. He believes blockchain technology has the potential to improve banking operations. It can reduce costs, increase efficiency, and process transactions much faster than traditional systems.

Eric also showed support for U.S. stablecoins, mentioning a study that found little interest in euro-based stablecoins in Europe. He expressed his belief that U.S. stablecoins could significantly help strengthen the dollar.

Eric recently joined the Strategic Board of Advisors at Metaplanet, a move seen as part of the company’s efforts to establish itself as a leading player in the Bitcoin economy. This comes alongside Donald Trump’s recent executive order to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve, as well as his hosting of the first-ever crypto summit at the White House in March.
