Highlights:
- Weekly crypto fund inflows jumped to one of their strongest levels seen in nearly a year.
- Crypto funds attracted $3.2 billion, while bonds drew $17.7 billion and gold $7.3 billion.
- BofA’s Bull & Bear Indicator climbed to 9.7 as investor positioning remained heavily bullish.
Crypto funds pulled in $3.2 billion last week, marking their largest weekly inflow since October 2025, according to Bank of America (BofA). The sharp increase shows that investors continued putting money into digital asset investment products during the final part of August.
The figures appeared in Bank of America’s The Flow Show – Investing with Pleasure, published on August 28. The report, led by BofA investment strategist Michael Hartnett and his team, tracked global fund flows through August 26. Bank of America said the crypto market attracted billions of dollars alongside strong demand for bonds and gold.

Crypto Fund Inflows Join Strong Demand Across Markets
Crypto was not the only asset class receiving fresh money during the week. Bond funds recorded $17.7 billion in inflows, while gold funds attracted another $7.3 billion. The gold figure was also the largest weekly inflow since October 2025. At the same time, investors pulled $4.4 billion from U.S. equity funds. High-yield bond funds also recorded $700 million in outflows.
The numbers show that investors were spreading capital across several different parts of the market rather than concentrating it entirely in stocks. Crypto still received a sizable share of those flows, with the $3.2 billion total placing digital assets among the stronger investment categories for the week.
Fund flows track money entering and leaving investment products. Large inflows usually show that investors are increasing their exposure to an asset class, while outflows show money moving in the opposite direction.
Bank of America Sees Investor Positioning Near Extreme Levels
Bank of America’s wider market data also showed that investor sentiment remained very bullish. The bank’s Bull & Bear Indicator increased from 9.5 to 9.7 as of August 26. The indicator moves between bearish and bullish extremes, and BofA treats readings above 8.0 as a contrarian “sell signal.”
Meanwhile, 82% of global market indexes tracked by Bank of America were trading above both their 50-day and 200-day moving averages. BofA said that figure was moving closer to its 88% threshold for another contrarian sell signal. The high reading does not mean crypto prices will automatically fall. Instead, it shows that bullish positioning has become unusually strong across financial markets.
Crypto’s $3.2 billion weekly inflow therefore came during a period when investors were putting large amounts of money into several asset classes. Bonds received the most capital, while gold and crypto also recorded some of their strongest flows in months.
The latest fund flows also come as Bitcoin is starting to trade more like gold. In an August 27 report, Grayscale said Bitcoin’s 90-day correlation with gold had climbed above 50%, while its link with the Nasdaq 100 had dropped to around 33%. The firm pointed to rising U.S. debt, which has now moved above $40 trillion, as one factor pushing investors toward scarce assets such as Bitcoin and gold.
