Government Officials and Presidential Working Group Members Set to Attend
Government officials set to attend the summit include David Sacks and various members of the Presidential Working Group. In January, Trump added key leaders of top federal agencies to the group, including the Treasury and Commerce secretaries, as well as the acting chairs of the SEC and CFTC.
Chairing the event, David Sacks hinted at revealing more about the U.S. Crypto Reserve. The government has already backed five cryptos—Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, SOL, and ADA—and further details could be unveiled at the summit.
In an interview with The Pavlovic Today, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Bitcoin would receive special status under Trump’s initiative. He mentioned that the President had shown interest in a Bitcoin strategic reserve during his campaign and will execute it on Friday.
Meeting of the SEC’s Crypto Task Force
Besides the latest invitation, the press release on March 3 revealed that the SEC will hold the inaugural meeting of its newly formed Crypto Task Force. The task force will focus on the “security status” of digital assets. This development comes amid the dismissal of pending lawsuits against cryptocurrency companies, signaling a shift towards a more lenient crypto regulatory approach.
