Strive Reports $3.5 Billion in Bitcoin Holdings
Strive held approximately 43,000 Bitcoin as of October 23, up from 36,818 BTC reported a week earlier. That represents an increase of roughly 6,200 BTC. The company reported a total acquisition cost of about $3.8 billion. Its average purchase price stood at $87,785 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses.
However, Strive valued its holdings at approximately $3.5 billion as of October 23. That puts their market value below the amount the company paid to acquire them. Alongside its Bitcoin holdings, Strive reported $504.4 million in cash and cash equivalents. It also held shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock worth around $50.2 million.
The latest figures follow several weeks of Bitcoin purchases. Between October 12 and October 16, Strive bought 4,045 BTC at an average price of $82,803 per coin. Those purchases brought its holdings to 36,818 BTC before the latest increase. Strive uses Bitcoin as a major part of its corporate treasury strategy. The company raises capital through stock offerings and other financing methods to support its purchases.
Strive Plans Up to $1 Billion in SATS Preferred Stock Sales
Meanwhile, Strive has announced another funding plan. In its October 26 prospectus, the company said it could sell up to $1 billion of its Series A Perpetual SATS Preferred Stock. The shares carry a 15% annual dividend rate based on their $100 stated amount. However, cash dividend payments remain subject to board approval and applicable requirements.
Under the new agreement, Strive can sell the shares gradually through seven financial firms. These include Cantor Fitzgerald, Barclays Capital and Clear Street. The arrangement allows the company to sell shares at market prices over time. However, the $1 billion figure is the maximum offering amount, not money already raised.
Strive said it could use the proceeds to buy Bitcoin, support daily operations, acquire assets or repurchase shares. The company has not committed the entire amount to Bitcoin purchases. Earlier, on October 20, Strive completed a separate $630 million preferred stock offering. It sold seven million SATS shares at $90 each.
That offering also marked the start of SATS trading on Nasdaq. The new funding arrangement gives Strive another way to raise money as it expands its Bitcoin holdings. However, future purchases will depend on market conditions and how management decides to use the proceeds.
