Samsung Electronics plans to introduce USDC stablecoin transfers through Samsung Wallet in the last week of October 2026. The new feature will allow eligible Galaxy users in the United States to send digital dollars to crypto wallets worldwide and bank accounts in more than 60 countries.
Samsung announced on October 7 that the feature will initially support USD Coin (USDC), a stablecoin designed to maintain a value of $1. Users can access the service directly through Samsung Wallet without installing a separate crypto application.

Samsung Wallet Users Can Send USDC Worldwide Without Transfer Fees
The upcoming service will allow eligible users to send USDC to compatible cryptocurrency wallets and exchange accounts worldwide. Samsung will not charge fees for these wallet transfers, although receiving platforms may apply their own charges. Samsung said transfers could take seconds, depending on blockchain network conditions. In addition, users can send money to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients can receive funds in their local currency without creating a cryptocurrency wallet.
However, bank transfers will carry fees based on the destination and amount. Samsung Wallet will show the estimated cost and delivery time before users confirm a transaction. Woncheol Chai, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung’s Digital Wallet Team, said the company wants to simplify international payments.
“Sending money abroad should feel as convenient as using the wallet already on your phone,” Chai said. He added that eligible users would be able to transfer USDC without managing their own private keys. According to Samsung, the feature will be available across 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the United States.
Samsung Partners With Coinbase and Bastion for Stablecoin Services
Samsung is working with Coinbase and digital asset infrastructure provider Bastion to operate the new service. Bastion will manage the stablecoin accounts and cross-border payment infrastructure. Meanwhile, Coinbase will serve as the sub-custodian, securing USDC through its Coinbase Prime Vault service.
Samsung confirmed that it will not directly hold customer funds. Instead, regulated partners will handle custody and money movement. The service will also require biometric authentication before users can initiate transfers. Eligible customers must be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, and have a compatible Galaxy device running Android 13 or later.
Users must also complete identity verification and register a Samsung Account. Beyond Coinbase and Bastion, Samsung named Solana and Sui among the technical partners supporting parts of the service, including blockchain infrastructure. The announcement builds on Samsung’s existing partnership with Coinbase. The companies previously introduced Samsung Pay as a payment option in the Coinbase app and offered eligible users access to Coinbase One benefits through Samsung Wallet.

Samsung Eyes Stablecoin Payments in Stores and Online
Samsung also plans to explore additional stablecoin payment features after the initial launch. Future updates could allow eligible Galaxy users to pay with stablecoins online or make contactless payments in physical stores. However, Samsung has not announced a launch date for these payment options. The company may also expand the service into additional countries as local regulations develop. USDC will remain the first supported stablecoin when the service launches later this month.
