Highlights:
- Revolut’s euro stablecoin EURR starts with selected customers across Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.
- Bridge issues EURR under MiCA rules, with reserves designed to support a €1.00 peg.
- Multiple blockchains and external wallets will support euro-denominated transfers.
UK-based neobank Revolut has started rolling out EURR, its first euro-backed stablecoin, to selected customers across three European markets. Eligible customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal can access the token through the retail app. Meanwhile, the product links euro balances with crypto assets across compatible blockchain networks.
The rollout gives users a euro-denominated route for transfers between fiat accounts, blockchain services, and external wallets. Later this year, the company plans wider EEA access after completing further product and operational work.
First Customers Gain a Euro Blockchain Route
According to the announcement on August 26, EURR targets a value of €1.00 for every token in circulation. Bridge Building S.A., a Stripe company, issues the asset and oversees its reserves. Those reserves follow applicable MiCA requirements, which set standards for stablecoin issuers across Europe.
Users can move EURR between the app and supported external wallets. Multiple network support also creates more than one route for on-chain transfers. Therefore, customers do not need to hold a dollar stablecoin before entering crypto markets.

Stablecoins already handle trading, settlement, and asset movement throughout the crypto sector. Beyond trading, the company sees potential uses in international payments and business transactions. Still, the first release focuses on app access and wallet movement for a selected customer group.
Revolut Builds a Wider Stablecoin Strategy
The Revolut euro stablecoin launch forms the first part of a broader plan for currency-linked digital assets. The management plans other denominations through separate regulatory channels, rather than placing every token under one approval. Therefore, the euro product serves as the starting point for a wider stablecoin range. Each future release will depend on its own market, license, product, and operating requirements.
Revolut enters this market with more than 80 million retail customers worldwide. Its crypto services already reach over 16 million users, giving EURR an established distribution base. Notably, the app combines banking, foreign exchange, and digital assets inside one customer account.
Crypto chief Emil Urmanshin said the product connects the company’s customers with on-chain finance. Product owner Iman Olya focused on removing friction between traditional accounts and crypto networks. Meanwhile, Bridge product head Mai Leduc Blount cited European authorizations supporting custom euro payment rails.
European Rules Shape the Next Phase
MiCA reshaped Europe’s stablecoin market, where the neobank now joins the competition. Over the past two years, the rules have increased compliance demands for issuers serving EEA customers. Meanwhile, euro token issuance has remained concentrated, leaving fewer large products than the dollar market. EURR adds another regulated option that connects directly to a major consumer finance platform.
Revolut has spent about eighteen months assembling licenses for its broader financial strategy. It holds an EU banking license and secured a full UK banking license in March. In addition, it obtained MiCA authorization through Cyprus and has a United States bank charter application pending.
At the same time, the ECB selected the neobank among 36 firms for its digital euro pilot last month. That selection gives the company a role in testing a public digital currency alternative. Thus, it now works on a private euro token while contributing to trials for a central bank project.
