Tron founder Justin Sun expects the blockchain to become the world’s largest stablecoin network by 2027 as its stablecoin supply nears record levels. Sun made the prediction in an X post on October 4. He said Tron’s stablecoin market is approaching new highs and urged platforms that have not yet integrated Tron-based stablecoins to move faster.
“Tron’s stablecoin is about to hit new highs soon. By 2027, Tron will become the number one stablecoin network,” Sun said in the translated post. His comments came after Wu Blockchain shared data showing continued growth in Tron’s stablecoin market.
波场稳定币很快达到新高,2027年波场会成为稳定币第一网络,未集成波场稳定币的,都要加快速度了。USDT USDD 后续还有很多都将上线! https://t.co/5fyv0MQ6Uw

Tron Stablecoin Supply Reaches $94 Billion
According to the report, Tron held about $94.013 billion in stablecoins as of October 2. The network’s stablecoin supply had remained above its historical 99.5th percentile for 29 consecutive days. More importantly, Tron’s share of the overall stablecoin market crossed 30% for the first time.
USDT remains the main driver of that growth. Tether’s stablecoin accounts for about 98.3% of Tron’s total stablecoin supply, making the network heavily dependent on a single asset. Sun also pointed to further expansion. He mentioned USDT and USDD and said more stablecoin products would launch on Tron. “Those that haven’t integrated Tron stablecoins yet need to speed things up,” he added. However, Sun did not provide specific launch dates or supply targets for the additional stablecoins.
Ethereum Still Leads the Stablecoin Market
Despite Tron’s growth, Ethereum remains the largest blockchain for stablecoins. The figures put Ethereum’s stablecoin supply at around $147.061 billion, giving it a 47.2% market share. However, that share has fallen from 53.4% a year earlier.
Ethereum’s total stablecoin supply also declined by a net $12.278 billion over the period covered by the data. Wu Blockchain attributed most of that decline to USDe, whose supply fell by about $10.224 billion, or 79%. Ethereum’s stablecoin market is also more diversified than Tron’s. USDT accounts for roughly half of Ethereum’s stablecoin supply, while USDC represents around 31%.
Tron Stablecoin Growth Comes Alongside Record Network Activity
Tron has also started broadening its stablecoin ecosystem beyond USDT. In September, Ethena launched USDe and sUSDe on the Tron network, giving users access to more dollar-linked assets. The expansion adds another option for transfers, holding, and potential use across Tron-based decentralized applications.
TRON’s wider network activity has also reached new highs. On September 23, TRON DAO said total transaction volume settled on the blockchain had surpassed $30 trillion. The network had recorded more than 405 million user accounts and over 15 billion transactions, while carrying more than $94 billion in circulating USDT. TRON also led all networks in USDT transfer volume during 2026, with about $6 trillion transferred year-to-date and roughly $25 billion in average daily volume. The figures add further context to Tron’s growing role in stablecoin payments and settlement.
