Charles Hoskinson Confirms XRP Integration in Cardano’s Lace Wallet

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, was recently in a YouTube AMA and made this affirmation, suggesting that the Web3 non-custodial wallet will enable individuals to have the capacity to store, transfer, and receive XRP. This move aligns with the company’s long-term vision of developing Lace into a multi-chain wallet that currently supports Bitcoin and Cardano.

Lace Wallet Expands to Include XRP

In the three hours of AMA, Hoskinson expounded on the current relationship between Cardano’s Input Output Global (IOG) team and Ripple. He also stated that there have been noticeable improvements in relations between the two teams despite previous tensions. 

He also noted that Cardano’s IOG team is currently considering partnering with Ripple. One of them is the addition of support for XRP to Lace Wallet. This integration will ensure that users can operate XRP right from the wallet such as ADA and BTC.

Hoskinson, however, did not announce the exact time when the feature would be rolled out, but he said that it is in the works. The cooperation between Cardano and Ripple can be considered as an example of moving from the competition on the market. Additionally, this move gets reinforced by Ripple’s backing of Hoskinson to deliver a speech at a Ripple event.

XRP Holders to Receive Midnight Token Airdrop

Besides the wallet integration, Hoskinson also said that XRP holders would be able to claim the upcoming Midnight (NIGHT) token airdrop. Midnight is a privacy-oriented blockchain that ensures that decentralized applications operate securely and with full transparency. 

XRP holders will be included in the other blockchain users to receive the NIGHT tokens through the airdrop with a target of reaching 37 million users. This will help in reaching out to various blockchain communities and ensure that the user base for Midnight is expanded.

This cross-chain airdrop strategy is as well another way of cementing Cardano’s inclusiveness of other blockchain networks.
