Top fiat-crypto payment outlet Alchemy Pay has sealed a new partnership with an African-based payment firm, Yellow Card. The collaboration news appeared in an October 15 article on the Alchemy Pay official website. It revealed that the integration aims to streamline access to cryptocurrencies across Africa by leveraging Yellow Card’s domineering payment networks and Alchemy Pay’s on-ramp product.
For context, the on-ramp product entails converting local currencies into equivalents in cryptocurrencies. Hence, it will enable crypto transactions via African conventional banknotes. Meanwhile, Yellow Card boasts a payment system that cuts across bank transfers and mobile money options in 20 African nations. It has overseen several transactions worth about $3 billion.
Speaking on choosing Yellow Card as a suitable partnership option, Robert McCracken, the Ecosystem Lead at Alchemy Pay, remarked:
“Yellow Card has established itself at the cutting edge of digital payments across Africa. With their support for local payment rails there, Alchemy Pay can quickly extend its on-ramp coverage to serve millions of new users in these regions.”

Alchemy Pay and Yellow Card Unite for Unique Payment Innovation
Per Alchemy Pay’s official release, the payment outlet will make the payment process seamless by adopting traditional payment methods. In addition, Alchemy Pay will ensure that transaction fees are pocket-friendly. Coming from a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) point of view, the publicized article noted that Alchemy Pay will leverage Yellow Card’s payment Application Programming Interface (API) to enhance DeFi involvement for the citizens.
With API technology, the fiat-crypto firm is confident of contributing significantly to the growing crypto adoption in Africa, having recently taken center stage in the global crypto acceptance frenzy. Noteworthily, the countries and their local currencies that will benefit from the integration include Botswana (BWP), Cameroon (XAF), Rwanda (RWF), South Africa (ZAR), Uganda (UGX), and Zambia (ZMW).
