Ochocinco to quit McDonald's, divorce, sex if 49ers win Super Bowl

Former wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson vowed to stop eating McDonald’s for a year, divorce his wife, Sharelle Rosado and abstain from sex for a year if the San Francisco 49ers defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

“If the Chiefs lose, I’ll divorce my wife and no more sex for the rest of the year,” Johnson said to Bleacher Report. “That’s how confident I am.” He claimed he was confident in the Chiefs’ victory because he had “seen the script.”

Former tight end Shannon Sharpe was skeptical about Ochocinco’s commitment, saying that the former Cincinnati Bengals receiver might not be able to give up McDonald’s, given his history with the fast-food chain both as a child and during his NFL career.

“I can do it,” Johnson said. “And look, there’s something I have called discipline. That’s the best trait, the best asset I do have.”

The Chiefs have reached the Super Bowl four times in the past five years. Last year, the team defeated the Philadelphia Eagles and won the Super Bowl. So far, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce have been two key players for the team.

Meanwhile, the last time the 49ers won the Super Bowl was in 1994, when they played against the San Diego Chargers. However, the 49ers were the NFC’s No. 1 seed when they entered the playoffs, while the Chiefs were No. 3.

“You don’t understand, the Chiefs are not losing,” Ochocinco said. “And the fact that you’re even betting against Patrick Mahomes is asinine.”

However, Sharpe reminded Ochocinco that when the Chiefs played against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship, the former receiver bet against Mahomes. Only time will tell if Johnson will keep his word if the 49ers can defeat the Chiefs.

Super Bowl history

In 2019, the Chiefs and 49ers also met in the Super Bowl. At the time, the Niners managed to take the lead throughout the match until 10 minutes before it ended. However, Mahomes and the Chiefs turned the situation around and won the match 31-20.

The last time the Chiefs and the Niners met was in October 2022, when the Chiefs once again emerged victorious. Since then, the Niners have undergone changes. Now, they have Brock Prudy as the quarterback and Christian McCaffrey as the running back on the offensive team. The team also managed to win against the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions in the postseason matches.

However, despite the changes in the Niners, Ochocinco remains confident that the Chiefs will win, even though they are considered the underdogs against the Niners. Then again, the Chiefs were also considered underdogs when they faced the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens. Yet, the team was still able to win 27-24 against the Bills and 17-10 against the Ravens.

Ochocinco himself was a star player. In July last year, the Bengals announced that Chad would join Boomer Esiason to get the Ring of Honor on September 25. Bengals President Mike Brown complimented the two players, calling them “exceptional players.”

“If you look at the statistics, Boomer has a long list of quarterback firsts here,” Brown said. “And Chad was a superb athlete who was probably the quickest receiver we have had here. They could have moments when they just carried the team by themselves. Both players are very deserving of this honor.”
