Charles Hoskinson has launched Midnight, a privacy-focused Layer-1 blockchain backed by the Midnight Foundation. The network uses zero-knowledge proofs and a dual-token system, NIGHT and DUST. It aims to support private transactions and selective disclosure. Developers and institutions may use it for finance, digital identity, and compliance-heavy services.

According to Kaia, overseas transfers fell from one to three business days to under three minutes. Costs also dropped from about KRW 9,600 to under KRW 1,250, while intermediary banks fell to zero. Meanwhile, the proposal outlines AML, KYT, multisig security, and retail payment use cases.
