The company also raised its digital credit securities repurchase program from $2 billion to $3 billion. Following the latest purchase, Strategy holds 848,517 BTC and about $5.3 billion in US dollar assets.
In an October 19 announcement, Strategy said the transactions took place between October 12 and October 18. Saylor confirmed the figures on X as the company continued buying Bitcoin while managing its preferred stock obligations.

Strategy Buys 267 Bitcoin for $22.1 Million
Strategy paid about $22.1 million for its latest 267 BTC, at an average price of $82,900 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. The purchase brought its total Bitcoin investment to $64.02 billion. As of October 18, the company’s 848,517 BTC had an average purchase price of $75,446 each. Strategy remains one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders, with its treasury strategy built around holding Bitcoin over the long term.
The company funded most of the purchase by selling 140,872 shares of its MSTR common stock. Those sales raised $22 million after commissions. Strategy covered the remaining $100,000 using its existing dollar cash holdings. The new purchase follows another weekly update on October 12, when Strategy announced it had acquired 250 BTC. Its latest filing shows that Bitcoin buying remains part of its regular capital management activity, even as it spends considerably more money repurchasing preferred shares.
Strategy Raises Digital Credit Buyback Plan to $3 Billion
The larger transaction this week involved STRC, Strategy’s Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock. Unlike ordinary shares, STRC is designed to pay investors regular dividends, with a rate that can change under its terms. During the October 12–18 period, Strategy bought back 1,938,780 STRC shares for $193.1 million. The company used its USD Cash account to pay for the entire repurchase. It did not repurchase shares in its other preferred stock series or its MSTR common stock.
Buying back preferred shares can reduce the number of shares receiving future dividends. Strategy has previously said it wants to support STRC trading closer to its $100 stated value while managing its longer-term dividend commitments.
Meanwhile, the board expanded its digital credit securities repurchase authorization by $1 billion. Despite the new $3 billion ceiling, the company said $1.16 billion remained available as of October 18. The authorization covers repurchases already made and does not mean Strategy has set aside $3 billion in cash.
Strategy also reported $4.83 billion in its USD Reserve, which supports preferred dividend payments and debt interest. Another $447.3 million was held as USD Cash for broader needs, including Bitcoin purchases and stock repurchases. During the week, it paid $45.5 million in preferred dividends from the reserve.
Saylor Backs Metaplanet’s Planned Superplanet Expansion
Separately, on October 19, Saylor welcomed progress on Metaplanet’s plan to establish a US-listed Bitcoin treasury platform through Super League Enterprise. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich said on X that Super League shareholders had approved proposals related to the deal, including a planned name change to Superplanet. The transaction has not yet closed, and Gerovich said further updates would follow.

“Superplanet expands the universe of Digital Credit. Congratulations, Simon,” Saylor wrote on X. Under the agreement announced in August, Metaplanet plans to contribute 2,100 BTC and $2.5 million in cash to Super League. In return, it is expected to receive a controlling stake of about 95.7% when the transaction closes.
The renamed Superplanet would give Metaplanet a US-listed Bitcoin treasury platform alongside its Japanese operations. The companies previously said they expected the transaction to close during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to the remaining conditions.
