Sony Launches Soneium for All to Support Web3 Growth and Innovation

Sony Blockchain Solutions Lab has introduced “Soneium For All,” a program that helps developers of Web3 platforms scale and develop their venture. This initiative helps address primary issues like getting users, dealing with growth, and advertising in the market. Those developers selected to take part in the program will focus on Soneium, Sony’s Ethereum Layer-2 network, designed for high-traffic and leading digital materials.

Applications for the incubator opened today, and Sony plans to announce the selected teams by late July. Once selected, developers will begin deployment shortly after. The Sony Innovation Fund, another partner of the incubator, will be available to give participants individual mentorship and advice. These support plans will help ideas become real projects and stay linked to Sony’s expanding digital world.

Soneium Offers Developers Grants and Network Access Through Sony Partnership

The new program is being launched in partnership with Astar Network, a decentralized blockchain platform for Web3, and Singapore-based Startale Labs. These partners bring additional technical support and blockchain infrastructure to the incubator. Moreover, a $60,000 grant pool is available for projects that integrate the Astar token as a payment or utility method. The purpose of this grant is to motivate developers to use the Astar token as they build on Soneium. They will also have the support of a big user community and work with Soneium’s top-performing blockchain features.

Soneium has about $166 million in total value locked, showing that it is being widely adopted. Those accepted into the incubator will enjoy having Sony feature their work in its marketing, including posts on social media and commercials. Such tools will assist with developing a larger audience for a project in the Web3 space.

The platform includes advanced options that make blockchain actions fast and secure. With the help of the Fast Finality Layer built by Astar, AltLayer, and EigenLayer, Soneium cuts down the time to finalize a transaction by more than 98%. With this update, transactions are processed more quickly, and cross-chain activities are smoother. Moreover, Anime ID, developed in partnership with Animoca Brands and San FranTokyo, enables fans to use anime-themed digital profiles across different dApps on the network.
