Highlights:
- Hamster Kombat reveals airdrop details, with 131 million players qualifying for tokens.
- Approximately 2.3 million accounts were disqualified for cheating.
- Community dissatisfaction rises as players label the airdrop the “Worst in Crypto History.”
The team behind the popular Telegram clicker game Hamster Kombat announced the final list of their Season 1 ahead of the much-anticipated airdrop event on September 26 and subsequent listing of $HMSTR tokens.
Since its launch on March 26, 2024, Hamster Kombat has drawn a global audience, with 131 million players qualifying for the airdrop. However, approximately 2.3 million accounts were disqualified for cheating, highlighting the game’s commitment to fairness. Despite qualifying, 30.6 million users failed to choose their withdrawal method before the deadline, but they still have an opportunity to claim their tokens. Along with this announcement, the game developers revealed the start of Season 2 for the popular play-to-earn game.
Hamster Kombat Token Distribution Details
The team announced that 75 billion of the total 100 billion Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) tokens are designated for community members. They disclosed that 60% of the total token supply will be airdropped after Season 1, while the remaining 15% will be distributed in the upcoming Season 2 of the game.
Of the 60 billion tokens, eligible users can receive 88.75% right away. The other 11.25% will be available 10 months after the token is listed. This means about 53.25 billion tokens will be airdropped immediately, while 6.75 billion will be distributed later.

Hamster Foundation Promotes Airdrop as the Largest in Crypto History
On July 30, the Hamster Foundation called its upcoming airdrop the “largest airdrop in crypto history.” The team stated that most of the tokens will go to players, while the rest will support liquidity, ecosystem partnerships, grants, and rewards for teams and other initiatives.
On Aug. 12, the team announced that it had rejected offers from venture capital firms. This means there will be no early investments in the token, and the market will set its value. They stated, “There is no extra sell pressure,” adding that the value of HMSTR tokens will depend on demand, supply, and community interest.
Players Dub Hamster Kombat Season 1 Airdrop the “Worst in Crypto History”
Players had not received this detail beforehand, and it’s one of several reasons for their dissatisfaction with airdrop allocations. They continue to voice their frustrations on social media. Amid this turmoil, the project team has launched “Interlude Season,” a transition phase from season 1 to season 2. Many are calling it the “Worst allocation” in history. What was billed as the biggest airdrop in history now feels like a scam.
After months of grinding for PPH, all efforts now feel wasted due to the last-minute key collection requirements. Many users are calling this one of the worst airdrops in crypto history.

The team received significant engagement from the community on their app and social media but ultimately broke their trust and hopes. It will be intriguing to see if Hamster Kombat clarifies issues and how many players support them in Season 2.

Players who worked hard to boost their PPH were disqualified without warning. Meanwhile, some who used multiple accounts and key generators still qualified for the airdrop.
A crypto community member tweeted:
“There are a lot of people who got banned without cheating. Hamster Kombat, you need to address this situation; you have made some wrong decisions for the community.”
