Gemini Launches Tokenized Stocks Trading for Global Access

Crypto exchange Gemini is now offering tokenized stocks to its users in the European Union. It starts with tokenized shares of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), using the MSTR ticker. Gemini announced on June 27 that MSTR tokens will initially launch on Arbitrum (ARB), an Ethereum Layer 2. The company also plans to expand support to more blockchain platforms soon.

Gemini Aims to Make U.S. Stocks More Accessible Through Tokenization

Gemini said the goal is to make U.S. stocks easier for people to access by mixing traditional shares with the 24/7 use of crypto. The company mentioned that people with just a smartphone and internet could now reach U.S. stocks like MSTR on the blockchain. Gemini has partnered with Dinari, a U.S. company that helps turn real stocks into digital tokens. The company said that with Dinari’s system, users can get easier trading (liquidity), clear information (transparency), and in some cases, the same rights as owning the real stock, like getting dividends.

Gemini said on Friday that the old financial systems are difficult to use and need to be updated. The company explained that tokenized stocks help fix these issues by making investing easier and more open to everyone. Regular stock markets often have limits, like fixed trading hours based on time zones, extra fees for people in other countries, and less access for users in some parts of the world. The company also plans to add more tokenized stocks and ETFs soon, aiming to bring U.S. equities to users worldwide and support open, global investing.

MSTR stock has risen 3.84% in the last 30 days and is now trading at $383.88, based on Google Finance data. On Wednesday, financial analyst Jeff Walton said Strategy has a strong chance of joining the S&P 500, as long as Bitcoin remains above $95,240 by the end of the second quarter.

Gemini Expands Solana Services with Staking and ETF Partnerships

Apart from tokenized stocks, Gemini is also expanding its role in the Solana ecosystem. The exchange has launched Solana staking services designed for ETFs, companies, and wealthy clients. This lets users earn staking rewards while keeping their assets safe with Gemini’s cold storage system.

Gemini has also teamed up with Purpose Investments to back the Solana ETF (SOLL), which is their second staking-focused ETF. This product relies on Gemini’s secure custody system and aims to strengthen the company’s presence in Canada. In addition, Gemini is working with DeFi Development Corp., a firm focused on managing Solana treasuries, as it continues to grow its SOL holdings and staking operations.
