- Users can buy calls and puts, but they still cannot sell or write options contracts.
- Alpaca Securities handles clearing and share delivery, while access depends on where the user lives.
Binance has expanded further into traditional finance by launching options tied to U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The new product gives eligible users access to options on more than 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs through their Binance accounts, Bloomberg reported on September 1.
Binance also confirmed the launch in an official announcement on September 1. The exchange said the contracts are physically settled. As a result, an exercised option can lead to the delivery of the underlying shares rather than only a cash payment based on the price difference. The launch adds another traditional market product to Binance as the crypto exchange continues building a platform that combines digital assets with conventional investments.
Binance Options Trading Supports Calls and Puts on U.S. Stocks and ETFs
The new service allows users to buy call and put options on supported U.S. stocks and ETFs. A call option gives a trader the right to buy an asset at a fixed price, known as the strike price. A put option gives the trader the right to sell at a set price. Traders can use these contracts to take a bullish or bearish position on a stock or ETF. They can also use options to hedge existing positions or manage portfolio risk.
For now, Binance has made the service long-only. Users can buy calls or puts, but they cannot write or sell options contracts. For buyers, the maximum loss is limited to the premium paid for the option.
During the first phase, Binance only supports limit orders. Users can fund eligible trades through their Funding Account, Spot Account, or Flexible Earn balance. Supported assets include USDC, USDT, USD1, U, and BNB.

Alpaca Handles Clearing and Share Custody
Binance offers the stock options service through Nest Trading Limited, which acts as the introducing broker. Alpaca Securities LLC serves as the U.S. clearing broker. Since the contracts use physical settlement, Alpaca handles the underlying shares when an option requires share delivery. This setup lets Binance users access traditional U.S. securities while staying on the Binance platform.
Trading hours also follow the U.S. options market. Most supported contracts trade between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Some ETF and exchange-traded note options can trade until 4:15 p.m. Stock options generally do not support pre-market or after-hours trading.
Binance Expands Its U.S. Stock Offering
The options launch follows Binance’s earlier expansion into direct U.S. stock and ETF trading. The platform already provides eligible users with access to more than 7,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs, including fractional shares.
However, access to the new options product depends on a user’s location and eligibility. Before trading, users must complete Binance’s Options Suitability Quiz and accept the required disclaimer. Eligible users can then check whether a particular stock supports options, choose an expiration date and strike price, and place a limit order through Binance’s stock trading interface.
