Meanwhile, the fear and greed index stands at 50 levels, indicating neutral sentiment in the market. 

Bitcoin’s price is holding above $80K, while altcoins such as Ethereum, XRP, and HYPE are showing minor fluctuations. Amidst this mixed sentiment in the market, here are the best altcoins to watch today, such as Zcash, Toncoin, and Cronos.

1. Zcash (ZEC)

Zcash has been riding on a bullish wave recently, surging by 30% and 50% on the weekly and monthly charts, respectively. Currently, the price is hovering around $551, down by more than 3% over the last 24 hours. In addition, its market cap and trading volume stand at $9.30 billion and $800 million.

Grayscale has filed to convert its Zcash Trust into a spot ETF, marking a notable move for privacy coins. The proposal could create the first spot ETF linked to ZEC if regulators approve it. The filing followed reports that the SEC closed its privacy coin review without enforcement action. For years, privacy coins faced heavy regulatory concern in the U.S. However, that pressure now appears to ease.

The filing also comes as Zcash gains fresh attention from institutional investors. For instance, Multicoin Capital co-founder Tushar Jain said the firm has built a large ZEC position since February. Tushar views ZEC as a macro hedge, making it one of the best altcoins to watch today.

2. Toncoin (TON)

Toncoin is exchanging hands at around $2.44, up by more than 3% over the past 24 hours. The altcoin has been on a robust uptrend since breaking out of the consolidation zone around $1.40. Its market cap stands at $6.50 billion.

TON is trading above $2.40 after reclaiming the $2.36 key zone, which now acts as the main support area. The daily chart shows a strong breakout from the lower range after months of weak price action. However, bulls still need to defend this zone to keep the recovery structure active.

Furthermore, holding above $2.36 could support a move toward $2.80 and then $3.00. A stronger continuation may target the $3.50 resistance area. However, a daily close below the reclaimed zone would weaken the bullish structure.

3. Cronos (CRO)

Cronos has recorded an impressive performance recently, surging by 16% over the last 7 days. As of this writing, the price is exchanging hands around $0.0801, with a market cap of $3.50 billion. Furthermore, its trading volume has exploded by 160% to $50 million.

Cronos has formed a bullish pennant on the daily chart as bullish momentum builds. The altcoin has broken out of the consolidation zone that has held since early February. The price has bounced from the support at $0.06781 and retested the major resistance level around $0.08347. Should the current trend hold further, CRO could rally to test the next key level around $0.09387.

Meanwhile, indicators such as the Relative Strength Index and Moving Average Convergence Divergence support the continuation of the upward rally. The MACD line is steadily climbing above the signal line, indicating increased buying pressure. The 14-day RSI has reached the overbought zone but shows no signs of exhaustion, suggesting a further upward journey.
