Highlights:
- ProShares Ultra XRP ETF provides 2X daily leveraged exposure to the prices of XRP.
- NYSE Arca certifies the listing and registration of the ETF under ticker UXRP.
- ProShares plans two more XRP ETFs, pending clearance.
A July 14 SEC filing shows that ProShares has been approved by NYSE Arca to list the new ProShares Ultra XRP ETF. The ETF aims to provide investors with 2X the daily performance of an XRP index. Instead of possessing XRP, it employs derivatives for futures contracts and swaps. This leveraged exposure gives investors an opportunity to maximize fluctuations in XRP prices on a daily basis.
The fund is listed in the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) list. This listing indicates that the ETF is already ready operationally in terms of clearing and settlement. The live product page is already up and running, though the trading is yet to begin. In addition, ProShares has set its launch date as July 18 based on a July 11 filing.

More XRP-Based ETFs in the Pipeline
Along with UXRP, ProShares in April revealed plans to add two more XRP-linked ETFs. Short XRP ETF (XRPS) is expected to have -1x daily performance, with UltraShort XRP ETF (RIPS) having -2x. Both of these funds are designed in such a way that they make a profit when the price of XRP drops. These inverse ETFs are, however, not yet available on the DTCC site.
Trading of the inverse ETFs is still pending because ProShares is awaiting clearance. Once approved, the products will bring additional versatility to the investors who want bearish exposure on XRP. The three ETFs are also proposed to be launched on the same date, July 18. The market has reacted positively to the announcement. The price of XRP has increased by around 25% over the last week. The increase indicates a high community appetite for the ETF launch and the general shift to crypto-backed financial instruments.
Solana ETF Also Approved for Listing
In addition to the XRP-focused fund, NYSE Arca authorized another ProShares ETF associated with Solana. The ProShares Ultra Solana ETF, with a ticker SLON, also aims to provide 2x daily returns. It also employs derivative techniques commonly adopted by the XRP ETF.
The Solana ETF was approved in a different notice by the SEC. SLON, similar to UXRP, is developed to bring crypto exposure to the world of traditional finance. Such new products follow an increased demand for diversified crypto investments through regulated exchanges. ProShares published comprehensive prospectuses on all future ETFs. Both contain necessary details about the fund structure, expected performance, and associated risks. They point out that the fund utilizes derivatives and does not directly have the underlying crypto.
ETF Launch Signifies Growing Crypto Acceptance
The ProShares Ultra XRP ETF is a sign of a rising demand for regulated crypto products. Moreover, the certification at NYSE Arca is a major milestone in making leveraged crypto exposure accessible to mainstream investors. The ETF offers a channel through which traders can acquire amplified returns without direct asset ownership.
This launch further boosts the tidal wave of crypto ETF applications in the U.S. At least a dozen firms, including Grayscale, 21Shares, and Canary Capital, have filed for XRP ETFs. Analysts estimate a 95% chance of a spot XRP ETF approval soon.
