Gate Adds Polymarket to Its App, Opens Access to Prediction Trading

Cryptocurrency exchange Gate has added Polymarket to its platform, opening new options for users to trade real-world events. According to a press release issued by the company on 24 March, the new feature is now live in public beta and can be accessed directly within the Gate mobile app. The update enables Gate users to participate in prediction markets on topics such as sports, finance, and cryptocurrencies. 

Users will be allowed to buy “Yes” or “No” shares depending on what they think could become the outcome of events. Correct predictors earn returns once the event is settled. Notably, prices in each market reflect the current probability of an outcome. For example, a “Yes” share is priced at 0.65, which means the market believes there is about a 65% chance the event will happen. Users can hold their positions until the event ends. They can also choose to trade in and out as prices fluctuate.

Accessing New Functionalities on Gate’s Updated Platform

Over the past few years, Prediction markets have gained significant traction, especially as more people seek trading options that are based on news and major events. Gate’s latest move brings this type of trading to a familiar trading platform, making it easier for everyday users to participate. The updated platform now allows users to interact via two options. 

The first option is a simple model that displays probabilities and odds, making it easier for users to understand what the market thinks. The second option is the more advanced trading view. It contains charts, order books, and other tools similar to what traders use in regular markets. These features allow faster trade execution for experienced traders. 

Users with an active Gate account can access the feature in the app (version 8.12.5 or later) and trade using USDT from their spot wallet. For traders who prefer trading on Web3, wallets can also be connected via the Polygon network using USDC. With these, Gate hopes to eliminate complex blockchain steps. 

The trading platform stated:

“Users can participate in prediction trading using USDT in their spot account without any on-chain operations, ensuring a smooth and familiar trading experience and enabling them to quickly engage in the market. It also provides greater flexibility for those accustomed to decentralized environments.”

Account management has also been simplified on the updated platform. Gate stated that prediction positions are linked to users’ spot accounts. This allows balances, trades, and history to be viewed in a single interface. Once an event is decided, the platform automatically converts winnings into stablecoins and adds them to the user’s account. Gate disclosed plans to add more event types and improve trading features, as interest in event-based trading continues to rise.

Gate Continues to Expand Reach and Functionalities as it Adds Polymarket to its App

In January 2026, Crypto2Community reported that Gate Dubai secured the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) license for crypto exchanges and commenced operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dubai users can now benefit from spot trading services spanning digital assets such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). The platform also supports conversions involving local fiat and cryptocurrencies, closing gaps in regional crypto services. 

Around late last year, Gate announced the release of its state-of-the-art Layer 2 blockchain, Gate Layer. The technology is built on OP Stack and offers Gate users strong degrees of scalability at minimal cost, with high performance. It handles over 5,700 transactions per second (TPS) and processes one million transactions within the network for less than $30.
